Dec. 17, 2014—Five CFISD choirs performed festive songs for Whole Foods shoppers while helping raise money for local nonprofit Cy-Hope during the Whole Foods Vintage Park location’s community giving day, or “5% Day,” on Dec. 11.

Choirs from Jersey Village High School and Francone, Hamilton, Holmsley and Yeager elementary schools displayed their vocal talents in 30-minute increments throughout the evening, and 5 percent of the day’s net sales were donated to Cy-Hope, an organization focused on bringing hope to at-risk Cy-Fair children so they will grow into educated and productive citizens.

“Our team members are part of the local community and they are passionate about supporting the local causes that are important to our shoppers and neighbors,” reads a statement from the Whole Foods website.

The musical groups came together to raise money for Cy-Hope, an organization that seeks to rally the entire community around the goal of making life better for children in Cy-Fair.

“We are fortunate that Whole Foods Vintage Park reached out to our district with the intention of holding one of their community giving days to benefit an organization like Cy-Hope,” said Leslie Francis, director of marketing and business relations. “Valuable partners like these make the district’s mission to educate 21st Century global leaders that much easier.”
